We took ourselves over to Lane 7 on Friday evening after a week of hard work to bowl off some steam!
After another busy week in the office, in the spirit of work hard play hard, we had an evening of fun competition by bowling the night away at Lane 7. Stay tuned for the winner, including an impressive strike streak...

Our evening began with a drink or two over at The Exchange to strike up a few conversations (yes, we went there). This spot is a frequent stop on the agenda for Mojo socials - we love the relaxed and cosy atmosphere here! With candles being lit as the sun set on the last day of the week, it was the perfect way to wind down from work and move into social mode over our favourite drinks.

With the days growing lighter and warmer weather finally setting in, we took to the town in groups and, in the last light of the day, walked our way over to Lane 7 for some bowling action. Our Managing Director, Sally, was at the ready with pen and paper to scribble down classic nicknames for the scores - some of which resulted in unfortunately funny names once shortened on the boards, including one 'The P' instead of 'The Poet'...

Drinks in hand and bowling arms at the ready, we set up on our lanes to see who came out as winners. Two very different lanes were at play here - one packed with competitiveness, and the other with moral support for a more lighthearted game. We were all witness to some surprisingly impressive bowling techniques, with a few of us looking far above amateur!

The time was looming for scores on the doors, and it was looking like a very close game on one lane between all 4 players - John, Zak, Tim and Dan O. With strikes and spares all over the show, the rest of us were invested in the heat of such a tight match. When it all came down to it though, it was the one and only Dan O who managed to bag not 1, not 2, but 5 strikes in a row!
A well deserved win, Mojo are now looking to crown him with a new nickname: the contenders are '5-Strike' or 'Tenpin' to honour the evening. Here are a few words from our bowling champion:
--
What can I say, thank you to my family for their support to get me here... just kidding! It was a really fun night - I will happily don the nickname Tenpin until a new champion rises...

- Dan Owen, Account Manager

As the night drew to a close, a few of the team wrapped up the night in the arcade to relive a bit of childhood nostalgia. Mirren was on a roll on the pinball machine, with a few spectators gathered around as the group slowly shrunk for home time. Tim worked towards a new high score on 1942, a recurring challenge for him whenever a night at Lane 7 is on the cards - as a game he played since childhood, it's impressive to watch him work his magic!

Another fun evening well spent together to end the week. We're feeling refreshed to tackle Monday and the new week ahead, with some exciting projects in the pipelines over the coming weeks and months...
